Grape picking every Thursday in September at Natali Vineyards. Find out how wine is really made in the vineyard, with winemakers, Alfred Natali and Ray Pensari. It seems like it would be hard to grow 5 different varietals of grapes, but it seems almost impossible to grow and manage fifteen. Fifteen different varietals means every week for 8 weeks Natali will be harvesting a different grape, that's eight chances to learn about grapes, or the opportunity to learn about a new grape for eight weeks. This year, our award winning winemaker, Alfred Natali, will guide everyone through the afternoon by showing the techniques to grape picking. He also loves to educate, which is what makes this a great experience, especially if you are or might potentially one day be a home winemaker. After picking, Ray and Chuck will walk us through the winemaking process and give us tips on how to store wine, from the cellar to the refrigerator. They both just happen to be excellent chefs and each Thursday they promise to prepare and cook a Tuscan style meal for everyone to enjoy after a long day in the field. A meal and a glass of wine are never more appreciated then after a hard day of labor. Before each meal a wine consultants will offer a few tips on what to pair with Tuscan cuisine! At the end of the day, you can cross this activity off of your bucket list and definitely think about doing it again.
