Many of you have been supporters and visitors to the Cape May Jazz Festival over the years. This year, Cape May will be sponsoring the new Exit 0 Jazz Festival. While Hurricane Sandy has dampened the travel plans of many, we want you to know that the Festival is still planned for November 9-11. The website for the festival includes lots of details, but the overview for the event is as follows:
The inaugural edition of the Exit 0 International Jazz Festival kicks
off November 9-11, 2012 in Cape May, NJ. The Festival features
headliner Ramsey Lewis & his Electric Band on the Main Stage of the
Cape May Convention Hall, Saturday, November 10. World class musicians,
including Christian McBride & Inside Straight, Nicholas Payton, Mark
Murphy, Claudia Acuna, the Orrin Evans led Captain Black Big Band and
many more will perform throughout the weekend on both the Main Stage in
Cape May Convention Hall and in 8 intimate Festival club venues.
The brand new Convention Hall in Cape May will serve as the
Festival’s Main Stage. An early and late show is scheduled on both
Friday and Saturday night. Christian McBride & Inside Straight
perform Friday, and on Saturday the Festival hosts NEA
Jazz Master Ramsey Lewis. The Main Stage will be set up “bistro” style –
imagine the brand new Convention Hall decked out like a 500 seat jazz
bistro, who woulda’ thunk it – on both Friday and Saturday nights with
table service for drinks. On the Saturday afternoon session, theater
style seating will be set up in Convention Hall.
For those who are not still reeling from Hurricane Sandy, this event may be just what you need to relax and unwind.
