Shore towns sponsor craft shows throughout the summer.  One of the best ones in our area is the Stone Harbor Art & Craft Show.  This event will be on August 4th and 5th at the Stone Harbor Recreation Field, 80th and First Avenues in Stone Harbor. 

This event features many high quality crafts.... so come to the Candlelight and start your holiday shopping next weekend.

Cape May County Zoo - Another Great Reason to Visit Cape May County

 

The Cape May County Park and Zoo is a perfect place for everyone.   This amazing zoo is perfect for animal and nature lovers. 

This zoo is also FREE (donations are suggested but not required) and they have an amazing variety of all types of animals, reptiles, ducks, etc.  It is beautifully shaded as well for those hot summer days, and there is a lovely picnic area and playground as well right alongside the parking area.  This zoo has something for everyone.   Be sure to check out the snow leopards that were born in April.

A summer favorite is coming up this weekend.  The BBQ and Blues Festival in the Anglesea section of north Wildwood is an event that features incredible BBQ and great music.  The beach along with great BBQ and Blues - what more could you ask for??

Wings ‘n Water Festival – July 12 – 14, 2012

Thursday, July 12

• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Festival events, exhibits and activities at numerous locations – Wetlands
  Institute, 96^th Street, Stone Harbor Women’s Civic Center, Avalon Community Hall, Stone Harbor Bird Sanctuary, Stone Harbor Point, St. Paul’s Catholic Church and Stone Harbor Elementary School
• 6:30 p.m. – Family Night* – Reptiles Rock featured by the New Jersey Academy for Aquatic Sciences (Regular Family Night Admission fees apply.)
• 7:30 p.m. – Benefit Concert* – Featuring M80, an 80’s Tribute Band at the Princeton Bar in Avalon, NJ—help us remember our Festival roots and give tribute to the decade when it all began!  Wear your best 80’s gear and rock out with the Wetlands! – $15/person at the door

Friday, July 13

• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Festival events, exhibits and activities
• 6:30 p.m. – Sunset Cocktail Cruise* aboard the Miss Avalon II – $37.50/person includes cocktails and hors d’oeuvres

Saturday, July 14

• 6 to 10 p.m. – Benefit Auction Party* featuring new items in the Live and Silent Auction, cocktails and food

Maritime Festival at Hereford Inlet Lighthouse

The 2012 Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Maritime Festival is scheduled for Saturday & Sunday, July 7 & 8, 2012, from 9am to 5 pm. The outdoor festival is a celebration of New Jersey's rich maritime history. The events includes a lot of history as well as nautical books, crafts, and art. Festival Admission is FREE with only a $4.00 adult admission to tour the lighthouse. Saturday 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday 9 am to 4 pm, light rain or shine.

Be sure to visit the lighthouse gardens and take a stroll on the seawall while visiting the Festival  These are two of my favorite places in North Wildwood.
